Easter Weekend

I'm thankful.

I think I need to start with that simple statement because it is just hitting me as I sit down to write how thankful I really am. When I first considered actually submitting my application for the role of worship pastor it was with much fear and trembling. My early years in the church were under the music leadership of a terribly talented musician who was also strong in his pastoral leadership of the worship ministry.  With that said, going into this role knowing my gifts were slightly different was an intimidating thought, even despite the encouragement I received. Looking back, what I should have done was give a closer reading to 1 Corinthians 12:12-25.  The body of Christ has many different parts, and at NKMB I am but one small part of an amazingly diverse body. My role may be a very public one, but it is no greater or more important than anyone else, and with that comes the reminder that the gifts God has given me will be used in conjunction with the gifts God has given others.

This weekend's Good Friday & Easter celebrations were the perfect example of this... it was the result of many God given gifts coming together in His people that allowed us to do what we did.

Here's how Easter Sunday looked.
